Job Description:

The Chief Officer is the second-in-command on a bulk carrier with a DWT of 85,000 and a mixed crew. The role includes managing the deck and bridge department, supervising cargo operations, maintaining vessel stability, overseeing safety and lifesaving equipment, and ensuring compliance with international maritime regulations. Candidates must have good English proficiency, be no older than 45, and have at least 2 completed contracts in the position. The Chief Officer is responsible for navigation watch, cargo planning and handling, maintaining cargo records, managing the deck crew, and ensuring the safety and welfare of all onboard[1][3][4][5][7].
